Ozanam (1640-1717) was a famous and extremely talented mathematician, who was able to make applied mathematics understandable and almost popular in a multitude of publications. Since 1701 he was a member of the Academie des Sciences and numerous scientists and scholars (including Leibniz) held him in high esteem. - Explanation of problems from arithmetic, geometry, optics, gnomonics, cosmography, mechanics, pyrotechnics and physics.
