The fine text engravings show scenes of life on the farm as teaching of the children, needlework, library, astronomy, writing room, agriculture, workshop, water cultivation, tobacco harvest, threshing, and haymaking, further celestial phenomena, allegories of the seasons, monthly pictures, horticulture, viticulture, horse breeding, beekeeping, silk production, cooking, etc.. The plates show architectural, presses, pumps, mills, saws, a fire engine etc. - The different numbers of plates are due to the fact that sometimes some double-page-sized plates are counted as two plates. - Vol. 1 only slightly browned and foxed, with some worm traces, otherwise well preserved; vol. 2 in the upper part of the front partly strongly browned and musty, thus some text and image loss, otherwise as vol. 1; both bindings strongly rubbed and bumped, spine and fly-leaves defective.
