Not with Adams. - The reformation-minded humanist Palearius was sentenced to death by the Inquisition in Rome in 1570. Cause for the condemnation of the author was primarily the treatise on the immortality of souls (EA Lyon 1536; see KLL II, 615 f.). P's writings were indexed u. are therefore very rare. - Somewhat spotted and browned, several old hs. ownership inscriptions a.T.u.V. (1697, 1711, 1761), title-page with small hole in the west margin.
