Red calf covering the spine and half of the boards, the other half being composed of beige calf, framed with large mosaic of havana box bordered with a gilt fillet and framed with two gilt fillets on the red box part, and mosaic of red box bordered with a black fillet and framed with two black fillets, continuous to the other, on the beige box part, title in gilt and black letters in the centre of the boards, smooth spine decorated with mosaic Greek at the extremities and with the title in oblique in a gilt composition figuring a lightning bolt, half red calf and half beige calf frame inside, decorated with gilt and black fillets and a red and beige calf listel, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine preserved, slipcase (Ersé) First edition of this "very useful work, composed, decorated, illustrated and enriched with learned dissertations by André Lambert". The illustration includes various ornaments in black and red as well as 13 original etchings in colour. The edition was limited to 401 copies. This is one of the first 14 copies on japon à la forme, and more precisely one of the 13 containing the etchings in 3 states and an original drawing signed (n° 8). It also includes a suite of ornaments on japon. A very nice copy in a mosaic binding by Ersé. Spine faded. A few scattered brown spots.
