[LABOUREUR (Jean-Émile) - TOULET (Paul-Jean). Les Contrerimes. In-4, 303 x 235 : 145 pp, (3 ff. 2 last blank), printed cover. Green jansenist morocco, spine ribbed, parma suede lining with purple morocco listel and gilt fillet, parma suede endpapers, double endpapers, gilt edges, cover and spine preserved, green morocco spine and cover bands, slipcase (Laurent). Sylvain Laboureur, Catalogue complet de l'œuvre de Jean-Émile Laboureur, II, pp. 175-190, n° 404. 301 copies printed on Arches vellum, signed by the artist at the justification (n° 220), of the title that made Paul-Jean Toulet (1867-1920) famous . The edition, elegantly printed by Jean-Gabriel Daragnès who was responsible for the layout and the engraving of the initials, is illustrated with 62 burin engravings by Jean-Émile LABOUREUR (1877-1943). H.M. Petiet demonstrated his great bibliophilic qualities by publishing this work, as Hervé Dufresne recalled in his introduction to the catalogue of the sale of the Henri-Marie Petiet library which took place on June 5, 2003: "This search for quality was fully expressed when he published in 1930 the Contrerimes by P.-J. Toulet, with burin engravings by Laboureur, printed by Daragnès, one of the most beautiful illustrated books of the 20th century. A very nice copy in a Jansenist binding signed Laurent. Spine of the binding very slightly faded. Spine of the folder unstained. A few small and rare marginal foxing.
