Purple morocco, wide black fillet framing a composition of stylized flowers mosaic of green, orange and red morocco, accompanied by numerous gilt cross-stripes, smooth spine decorated with stylized flowers mosaic with gilt ribs, and wide cold-stripes, double gilt fillet framing the inside, wood paper lining and endpapers, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine preserved, case (René Kieffer). Sylvain Laboureur, Catalogue complet de l'œuvre de Jean-Émile Laboureur, II, pp. 104 to 110, n° 339. 125 copies numbered on wove paper (n° 92), the first work published by the society "les Cent-Une", a society of women bibliophiles . It is illustrated with 33 burin engravings by Jean-Émile LABOUREUR and includes an unpublished preface by Giraudoux. A nominative copy, specially printed for Mrs. Robert Schumann, very well bound by René Kieffer. It is enriched with 3 ORIGINAL DRAWINGS by Laboureur, studies for the illustration on page 278, and one of the 5 suites of illustrations on old japon. Spine faded. Provenance : Mrs Robert Schumann.
