[CURIOSA] - BRAGENELL (Pierre) - WEGENER (Gerda). Quatrains. [Paris] : printed at the expense of an amateur, 19230 [i.e. 1930]. - In-8, 250 x 190 : (13 ff.), 12 plates, printed cover. Half blue morocco with corners, spine ribbed and decorated, cover preserved (Canape). Dutel 2290*. Very rare edition printed at 150 copies on laid paper not put in the market (n° 2), of this collection of 12 quatrains by Pierre Bragenell, pseudonym of Pierre Bellanger, accompanying 12 superb free compositions out of text, of oval or round format, coloured with stencil, signed with a black wolf designating the artist Gerda WEGENER (1885-1940). The latter was the wife of the artist Einer Wegener (1882-1931), one of the first trans women in history, better known as Lili Elbe. Louis Perceau had also composed poetic pieces to accompany these illustrations in 1925. His collection is much more common than this one. This copy is enriched with a letter from the author on the justification page: to A. R. the charming master, // his very small pupil // and great friend // P.B . A fine copy in the original Canape binding . Some wear to the binding. Browning in the upper part of the first plate and of the facing page. Tear with lack of the second leaf of the text, without affecting the text.
