CARCO (Francis). Set of 4 illustrated editions of texts by Francis Carco: - Nuits de Paris. Paris : Au Sans pareil, 1927. - In-4, 284 x 228 : frontispiece, (2 ff.), XIII pp., (1 f.), 144 pp., (3 ff.), printed cover. Paperback, filled cover, publisher's illustrated hardback folder. Edition of 430 copies plus a few contributor's copies, illustrated with 26 etched compositions by DIGNIMONT, including one in colour in the frontispiece, 13 in black in the text and 12 in black on full page. One of 360 copies on Montgolfier d'Annonay white vellum (n° 192), enriched with two greeting cards illustrated by Dignimont, one etched in colour for 1927, the other partly autographed for 1960 . The frontispiece is disbound. - Paname. Paris : Henri Jonquières, [1927]. - In-8, 224 x 169 : frontispiece, (2 ff.), 115 pp, (2 ff. last blank), illustrated cover. Paperback, filled cover. Deluxe edition printed at 425 copies plus a few off-market copies, illustrated with an etched frontispiece and 23 black compositions, 7 of which are full page, by Jean Oberlé. One of the 400 copies on pink vellum of the Marais (n° 68), enriched with a copy of the programme of the Cinéma Impérial for the 1928 screening of the film Paname n'est pas Paris, whose script was taken from Francis Carco's play, and with a L.A.S. from the author addressed to M. de Visan, dated May 3, 1910, on the letterhead of the review Le Feu, 1 1/2 pages in-8 : " Thank you for the "Nourritures". I am surprised that Divoire after formal promise has not yet given the outline to L'Intransigeant.». - Hidden images. Pink jansenist morocco, spine ribbed, framed in pink morocco inside, decorated with red and gilt morocco pieces, black wavy fillets and circles of different colours at the corners, multicoloured brocaded silk lining and endpapers, double guards, gilt head, untrimmed, cover preserved, slipcase (Vermorel) First edition illustrated with 13 original lithographs by Luc-Albert MOREAU, including one on the title and 12 hors texte. Edition of 145 copies; one of 99 on Hollande vellum, including 3 states of the hors-texts. Spine faded. Provenance: G. Lévy, with gilt bookplate on the first lining. - La Bohème de mon cœur. Paris : Émile-Paul frères, [1929]. - In-4, 305 x 235 : (4 ff. first 2 blanks), 60 pp, (4 ff. last 2 blanks), printed cover. In leaves, in a stiff parchment folder with leather ties and publisher's slipcase. Beautiful edition "sought after and quoted" (Carteret), published, printed and illustrated with 16 original engravings by Gabriel DARAGNÈS. 105 copies were printed on Arches vellum, numbered and signed by the artist (n° 45) . This copy is enriched with an original pencil drawing by Daragnès, signed in ink, with no apparent link to the work. Some transfers of the engravings on the facing leaves.
