Half aubergine morocco with corners, spine ribbed with gilt and mosaic daisies, gilt head, untrimmed, cover retained (P.L. Martin). Collection first published in 1864, containing 5 erotic plays : Scapin maquereau, drama in one act by M. Albert Glatigny . - La Grisette et l'étudiant, a one-act play by Henry Monnier. - Le Bout de l'an de la noce, parody of Le bout de l'an de l'amour by Théodore Barrière by Lemercier de Neuvillee and J. du Boys. - A caprice by Lermercier de Neuville. - Les Jeux de l'amour et du bazar, comedy of manners in one act by Lemercier de Neuville. The edition is adorned with 20 beautiful free colour illustrations, 4 of which are full-page and one in the frontispiece, by Feodor Rojankovski, known as Rojan. One of 250 copies on vellum (n° 183), this one unique, enriched with a suite of 6 refused compositions and 10 ORIGINAL DRAWINGS in ink and watercolour by Rojan, unsigned, including the one for the frontispiece, two used for the illustration, 3 for the refused plates and 5 unpublished. A very fine copy bound by Pierre-Lucien Martin.
