[COMÉDIE-FRANÇAISE]. Set of 13 programs published on the occasion of the farewell of members of the Comédie-Française. When leaving the Comédie-Française, some members were given a farewell performance for which an often luxurious programme was published. We have here 13 for members who left this famous institution during the 20th century: - 1923: Retirement performance by Mr Leitner. Monday 11 June 1923. 1926: Retirement performance of Mr. Georges Berr after 39 years of service. Friday, April 30, 1926. Brochure in-8, texts by Robert de Flers and Louis Payen . - 1930 : Representation of retirement of Mr Maurice de Féraudy after 49 1/2 years of service. Wednesday, May 7, 1930. Brochure in-8. - Farewell performance of Mr Dehelly. Saturday 21 March 1931. Brochure in-4, stapled. Program printed at 1000 numbered copies (n° 531). It is illustrated with two portraits of the actor by Raoul Dufy, one on the cover. - 1933 : Farewell party for Madame Cécile Sorel. Friday, June 23, 1933. Brochure in-4, stapled. Cover illustrated by Drian. This program was printed at 1000 numbered copies (n° 217). This one is enriched with a beautiful L.A.S. from Cécile Sorel, dated September 15, 1950, of one page in-4, as well as a beautiful original watercolor caricature of Cécile Sorel, realized and signed by Bib and dedicated to Jacques Crépineau, and two articles on the actress. Well completed with the butterfly stating that "Madame Marlene Dietrich, the great star of the cinema, will appear in the Soirée de la Dame aux Camélias". - 1935 : In memory of Jacques Guilhène. Program printed in 1000 numbered copies (No. 852), illustrated with reproductions of sketches by the painter Henry Deluermoz, brother of the actress. - 1950 : Farewell party for Georges Le Roy, Member of the Society, Professor at the Conservatoire, after 32 years of service and 22 years as a Member of the Society. 17 February 1950. Copy enriched with two original photographs showing the actor in the role of Mascarille in Les Précieuses ridicules, one showing him alone, taken by the photographer Assim, the other showing him in the company of Béatrice Bretty. There are also two beautiful L.A.S. from Béatrice Bretty addressed to Jacques Crépineau in 1978, newspaper clippings, a thank-you card from Béatrice Bretty's friends addressed to Jacques Crépineau after the actress's funeral, and a large, beautiful original drawing signed by Siss, done in Indian ink and depicting a scene from Béatrice Bretty's farewell to the Comédie-Française. - 1974: Louis Seigner's farewell party. April 25, 1974. Leaflet in-4, in sheets. Enclosed are newspaper clippings and the original typescript of the Compliment to Louis Seigner written and delivered at the beginning of the show by Maurice Horgues, dedicated by the latter to Jacques Crépineaux. It includes some autograph notes. All these programs are kept in a cardboard folder.
