BERNARD (Tristan). Le Petit Café. Comedy in three acts. Paris : Librairie théâtrale, 1912. - In-18, 204 x 145 : (2 ff.), 180 pp. printed cover. Red half-chagrin, spine ribbed, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine preserved (Ateliers Laurenchet). First edition of this comedy first performed on October 12, 1911 at the Théâtre du Palais-Royal. One of 30 copies on Hollande paper (n° 23), the only large paper after 5 Japon. A copy bound by the Laurenchet workshops, enriched with the following items: - dedication on the third white endpaper by the chief set designer and costume designer Michel Fresnay (1931-2016) addressed to Jacques Crépineau, - L.A.S . from Tristan Bernard, August 15, 1928, to a friend, 1 page in-12 on the letterhead of the Grand Hôtel du Parc in Thonon les Bains, about a deposit of 2000 francs on his account, - original photograph of Tristan Bernard from the Cautin et Berger studio, on albumen paper in postcard format, dedicated to Léon Jué, - 3 very beautiful original unsigned pencil sketches of female characters, appearing on pages 7, 19 and 145, - 7 original unsigned watercolors mounted outside the text, depicting female characters on stage . A very well preserved copy despite the slightly faded spine, slight rubbing on the nerves and dark spots on the fifth box.
