Paperback, filled cover. Superb album with a preface by Edmond Jaloux, decorated with a black composition by George BARBIER on the cover, a portrait of the artist by Charles MARTIN in the frontispiece and 25 colour plates by Barbier, watercoloured with stencil and enhanced with gold and silver, printed on laid paper. These 25 plates represent stage costumes, including one for Lorenzo's Casanova (Empire Theatre of New York), 6 for Edmond Rostand's La Dernière nuit de Don Juan (Théâtre de la Porte Saint-Martin), 5 for Le Tapis persan, revue du casino de Paris, 2 for Madame Paulette Duval (Théâtre des Ambassadeurs), one for Marion Delorme by Victor Hugo (Cécile Sorel as Marion), 5 for Lysistrata by Maurice Donnay (Théâtre Marigny), and 5 for Amarilla ballet by Glazounow (New York). Each plate is accompanied by a captioned serpente. Edition of 300 numbered copies on blue-grey Arches laid paper, this one being one of the 275 sold (n° 217).
