[SWEDISH BALLETS]. Extremely rare set of 10 programs and reviews on the Swedish Ballets. The Swedish Ballets was a ballet company created by Rolf de Maré, which moved to the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. The choreographies were directed by Jean Börlin. During 5 seasons, from 1920 to 1925, they gave more than 2700 performances in the world. They surrounded themselves with the best artists, including composers Claude Debussy, Darius Milhaud, Isaac Albeniz, Alfredo Casella, Germaine Tailleferre, Erik Satie, Arthur Honegger, etc., poets Blaise Cendrars, Paul Claudel, Luigi Pirandello and Jean Cocteau, as well as painters Fernand Léger, Giorgio De Chirico, Pierre Bonnard, Jean Hugo, Foujita, Gerald Murphy and Francis Picabia. Number 2 of the magazine La Danse, entirely devoted to the first season of the Swedish Ballets at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris (October 23-December 6, 1920). It includes the programme as well as portraits of all the artists and illustrations by Per Krohg, R. Chastel, Nils de Dardel, Steinlen, Pierre Bonnard, etc. Copy enriched with two posters and a prospectus-program of the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées concerning this first season of the Swedish Ballets. - La Danse. It contains the programme of the Ballets Suédois for February 1921 as well as various articles by Jean de Bonnefon, Albert Jeanneret, René Bizet, etc., with photographic reproductions and drawings by Pierre Mourgue, Dignimont, etc. Copy enriched with 2 reproductions of drawings by Steinlen for the decor of La Fête Dieu à Séville, 3rd painting of Iberia and for the costume of a dancer in the same play.
