"The chariot of Diana the Huntress", Paris (circa 1805-1810) A First Empire mantel clock in finely chased bronze. The chariot of Diana the Huntress is pulled by two stags. As she is about to shoot an arrow from her quiver, her last catch lies at her feet. The enamelled dial "à la Coteau" with Roman numerals rests on a chiselled terrace centred on a bas-relief representing a boar hunting scene and flanked on each side by hunting attributes. It stands on six lion clawed feet. A similar model is kept in the Royal Dutch collections in The Hague. Dimensions : 47,5 x 56 x 13 cm.
