PERCUSSION FLINTLOCK GUN German, ca. 1850, hunting weapon. Damascus-steel round barrels (L 75 cm), Cal. 13 mm, rifled and smooth, breech screw, adjustable rear sight, front sight. Rear chain precision locks, flat lock plates and cocks, finely engraved tendrils, medallions depicting a dog and a roebuck. Cock safeties. Iron mounts, trigger guard, butt cap, two ramrod sleeves, with decoration. Walnut half-stock, the butt with cheek piece depiction of a resting hind, butt compartment with iron flap, the cover opulently engraved with a stag, wooden ramrod. L 116.5 cm. A percussion flintlock gun of particularly fine workmanship; surprisingly, without any marks or brands, considering the quality.
