CASQUETEL German, 1835-1849, volunteer cavalry corps, Frankfurt. Helmet skull made of black-lacquered felt; eye and neck shield. Nickel-silver ornamentation, tall comb riveted on a wide band, emblem on the front: large aureole with an oval shield with an eagle and the letter "F" in the center. Comb with black bristles, the side with a socket for a feather, and a white-red cockade with a cross in the center. Leather band, decorated with scales, the ends featuring lion heads. Original lining. H ca. 32 cm.
