Description

Natural tsavorite garnet of 2.23 ct. oval size mixed, deep and intense green. Of a very beautiful transparency and remarkable quality, the green is of an electric brilliance, so typical of tsavorites of high jewellery quality. An ALGT report from Antwerp in February 2021 indicates the absence of any treatment. Dimensions : 9.47 x 6.73 x 4.75 mm. The garnets are generally a deep, dark red. However, some rare garnets are green, such as demantoid garnet and tsavorite, named after Tsavo Park in Kenya. It is usually found in very small sizes, for paving in jewelry. When this garnet is more than 2 ct., we are in front of sought-after stones, which have the advantage of having very few inclusions, contrary to certain emeralds whose color is close. Much rarer than the emerald, this stone was discovered in 1967 but will be marketed around 1974, thanks to Tiffany & Co. who will create exceptional pieces by playing with its incomparable color.
