COMMODE Louis XV, France ca. 1760/70. Bears a signature Lutz (Gerhard Henri Lutz, maître 1766) and the guild stamp. Rosewood and tulipwood, inlaid in rectangular reserves in veneer and broad fillets. Curved body on curved legs, the front legs with bronze sabots. Front with three drawers arranged in two rows. Red grey speckled marble top with shaped edge. Fine gilt bronze mounts; the apron bronze is replaced. Ca. 130 x 52 x 86 cm. Losses to the veneer and restorations. In part highly faded. Simple, but elegant chest of drawers with tall legs.
