OCTAGONAL TABLE CLOCK England, beginning of the 18th century. The movement signed C. Cabrier London (probably Charles Cabrier, maître 1697–1724). Bronze, engraved with foliage, and gilt. Octagonal case with glazed openings on all sides, on three feet designed as lions (on later adjustable feet). Movement with verge escapement and balance wheel, striking mechanism on bell. Engraved brass chapter ring, with the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in Arabic numerals. Later hands. 12 × 12 × 8 cm. Spring of the striking mechanism defective. Supplemented, and with minor modifications. Bell mounting mechanism repaired / significantly restored.
