GUERIDON France, Empire period, circa 1810/1815 Oak frame ; mahogany veneer ; gilded bronzes ; sea green marble H. 75 cm, D. 90 cm This beautiful circular table with a flared and concave triangular pyramid base is adorned with a rich decoration of chased and gilded bronzes: caduceus, garlands of scrolls of fleur-de-lis, oak leaves and plant friezes. An imposing base with lion paws topped with lotus leaves supports the whole. Note the small castors hidden in the hooves, a quality detail of the finish of this piece of furniture. A sea green marble top caps the set.
