Published on the occasion of the celebration of fifty years of teaching by Franz Dorotheus Gerlach (1793-1876), dedicated by his peers. At the end with the "Berichterstattung [...] über den im Schuljahr 1869 und 1870 erteilten Unterricht" [Report on the lessons given in the school year 1869 and 1870], in which also the appointment of Nietzsche from Leipzig to Basel in 1869 is mentioned. Nietzsche succeeded Adolf Kiesling, who had been appointed to the Johanneum in Hamburg, as Greek lecturer and taught the 3rd grade for 6 lessons per week. - Throughout weak vertical crease, in places lightly foxed, title with small rest of stamp.
