Pair of plains indian moccasins. Made of natural skin, nicely decorated with multicolored beads. From a tribe of Hidatsas (tribe of the upper Missouri), called "big bellies" A.B.E. Late 19th century. The Hidatsas also known as the Fat Bellies of Missouri or Minnetarees (or Minnetaris) are a Native American tribe from North Dakota. They were allies of the Mandans, with whom they formed the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation.
