FRANCE END OF THE 14th CENTURY OR FIRST HALF OF THE 15th CENTURY A silver drinking cup, probably from a treasure, of circular shape lined with vermeil on the inside and outside. It is embossed in its center with cupules: in the center a flower composed of seven cupules, surrounded by six others more important alternated with six of the dimension of the first. Unidentified master goldsmith's mark: a cross surmounted by a crowned fleur-de-lys, probably a Parisian master goldsmith Same model as cup n°15 of the Coeffort treasure, reproduced and described in Catherine ARMINJON and Francis MUEL's publication in 1984 Un ensemble d'orfèvrerie exceptionnel d'orfèvrerie civile médiévale in " Le bulletin monumental ". Model similar to the cups representing the banquet of William the Conqueror before the battle of Hastings, on the embroidery of Queen Matilda kept in the Bayeux Tapestry Museum (11th century).
