Two cachepots / lidded box. Horst Skorupa and monogramist "IK" for VEB-Wallendorfer Porzellanfabrik. 1970s/1976. Horst Georg Skorupa1941 Breslau - 2004 Schaddel near Leipzig. Porcelain, glazed, the lid box made of bisque porcelain. Cubic forms, the walls decorated with figural and floral incised décor, partially painted in green and brown inglaze and onglaze colours. One cachepot signed "Horst Skorupa" and dated on the underside, the other cachepot unsigned. The lidded box incised underneath monogrammed "IK", with the embossing number "3098" and the green stamped manufacturer's mark. The white cachepot with a circular hole in the bottom. During the artistic excursions of the College of Visual Artists "Schaddelmühle" to the State Porcelain Manufactories, forms were created which were probably also available to other artists. Thus the artist of the present square vase is not deciphered, the incised decoration resembles the works of Skorupa. Dimensions: cachepots h. 11 cm / lidded jar h. 14 cm. From 1973 member of the VBK. 1974 co-founder of the artists' college "Schaddelmühle", until 1978 chairman of the college. 1975 Participation in the 1st International Artists' Symposium of the GDR. 1976 Prize in the exhibition "Young Artists of the GDR". 1981/82 Working stay in the studio of the State Porcelain Manufactory Meissen. From 1991 runs a joint studio with Martin Gruner in Schaddel. 1992 End of his work due to health problems. Some of Skorupa's works are in the Museum of Applied Art in Gera.
