Description
Lidded vase / baluster vase (so-called garlic vase). Delft. Probably 19th century. Faience, cream-coloured body, white glazing and cobalt blue painting. Lidded vase with bulbous body over octagonal cross-section, the vertically grooved wall with stylized floral decoration, the bell-shaped lid with conically tapered ball-shaped knob. The baluster vase over octagonal cross-section, double bulged, the wall also with stylized flowers. The lidded vase monogrammed "H" on the underside, the baluster vase unsigned. Lidded vase with crackled glaze and isolated open cavities as well as a chip on the lower stand ring.Baluster vase with chips at the mouth, restored area on the stand ring (ca. 6 cm x 3 cm), the lower belly (ca. 5,5 cm x 5,5 cm) as well as the upper belly (ca. 2 cm x 2 cm) and scattered scratches and small, partial bumps. Dimensions: H. 33 cm / H. 19 cm.
