Description

Penitent (candelabrum figure?). Probably southern German. Probably 1st half of the 17th century. Wood, carved and stained brown. With remains of a chalk grounding as well as a coloured frame. On the underside a wooden plate that was added later and mounted with a nail. Right arm missing. Isolated missing parts sealed with wax, minor drying cracks as well as traces of inactive pest infestation. Dimensions: H. 51 cm.
