Battermann, Jan (1909-1999). 24 drawings, ink brush over pencil, each signed - illustrations to Heinrich Böll, "De Weggooier" (The Thrower), Wereld-Bibliotheek 1961. ca. 12:13 to (mostly) 19,5:13,5 cm.
Illustrates a satirical short prose: An insurance clerk disposes of bins of advertisements while sorting the mail - entry into the emerging throwaway society in the advanced fifties, first print 1957, first book edition 1958 (Wilpert/G. 27). Subsequently several illustrated editions appeared.
