[MONTFLORY]

Foundation of the Monastery of Montflory (near Grenoble) - 1342 In-folio (28,4 x 20 cm), [24] pp. 17th century manuscript copy. Text in Latin, in brown ink on paper The monastery was founded on December 23, 1342. The royal monastery of Montfleury was originally the castle of the lords of Bouqueron, notably Siboud de Châteauneuf. This castle, overlooking the valley of Grésivaudan and near Grenoble, soon attracted the covetousness of the dolphins, who managed to make it part of their domain. The dauphin Humbert II, before leaving for the crusades, gave Montfleury to the Dominicans, who installed a convent there in 1342, which was directly attached to the royal power after the transfer of the Dauphiné to France (Wikipedia)
