The Belgian Congo seen by the painter Allard l'Olivier In-4°, illustrated with 14 superb off-text colour plates. The preface by Henri Carton, former Minister of Colonies, is full of a colonialist character. In sheets, in a blue cloth folder with flaps, gilt title, vignette pasted on the cover. Fernand Allard l'Olivier (1883 - 1933) uit Doornik is one of the Afrikanisten from the twentieth century, from the later zogenoemde jaren. He is one of the most important Afrikanists of the twentieth century, and his work has been a source of inspiration for the Afrikaans people. Totally at the beginning of the colonial period, this realistic painting is still in use in Congo. Allard l'Olivier decorated the Institute for Tropical Genetics in Antwerp Brussels Revue l'art Belge 1931
