Carel van Mallery (1571-1635) - The Story of the Miller, his Son and the Ass / Description: This is one of a series of six plates by Mallery (Hollstein 125-128), after Ambrosius Francken (Hollstein 6-11) depicting Aesop's fable of the miller, his son and the ass. Plate 2: A road with a boy seated on a donkey, his father walking next to him, a group of three figures addressing them at left, and blaming the boy for making his old father walk; depicting one of Aesop's fables; within ornamental frame; after Ambrosius Francken (1544-1618).
