Master AG (1470-1490 fl.) - Christ in the Limbo / Description: Christ in hell; Christ is walking with his banner on the broken gates of hell; to the right stand Adam, Eve and the redeemed; five devils surrround the gate. The monogram "A G" is engraved at the lower margin. Nagler, Monogrammisten, I, 613, 12, I (of III): "In these impressions the master appears in a very advantageous light. Unfortunately, they are very rare." - Sheet twelve from the series on the Passion. Master AG = previously identified as Albrecht Glockendon. / Dimensions: 15,00 x 10,80 Very good condition.
