Half-beard Switzerland/South Germany, 15th century. Iron (L 52 cm) forged from at least three initial pieces (cutting edge, beak hook, point/blade body) with a flat forged point, straight axe cutting edge, and beak hook; clear signs of use and regrinding. A forge mark on both sides of the beak hook, "cross-shaped square with four spheres". A coat-of-arms-shaped brass disc at the base of the 36 cm long shaft springs on the quarter side. Probably completed, dark-stained octagonal stock with two mirror-inverted brand marks "SW with central arrow pointing to the place" and old collection number "2215". Early Swiss half-barrel in good condition. L approx. 191 cm.
