Sword, Pata India, 19th century. Typical iron hilt with a hentzen-like hand and forearm guard. Round handle bar and loosely attached forearm guard. Fist area designed as a tiger's head, the forearm with decorative copper and brass overlays. Back blade reinforced in the lower area by iron cuffs, becoming double-edged and very flexible towards the point. Possibly a European pallash blade of the 18th century was ground thinner for this purpose. Good and almost complete condition, without the inner pad of the hand/arm guard. L approx. 121 cm.
