Autograph letter signed to Joseph KESSEL, 1 p small in-4 oblong plus address page on the back with postage, Villefranche-sur-Mer, December 5, 1924, to Joseph Kessel in Sceaux: "My dear Kessel. 1° Come quickly to join us here. 2° To resume my activity I will need the help of a secretary. Gachot would save me - He is looking for 700 f to live - I will give him 300 - Lacretelle [the writer Jacques de Lacrelle] assures me that you will be able to find him a position in journalism that will provide him with the rest (because I will exploit him very little) - He is a pearl and a hard worker - He would render extraordinary services to a newspaper Answer quickly (I prefer to be on familiar terms with you). You would thus help my resurrection. I kiss you. Jean" [Jean Cocteau took refuge in the South of France to mourn Raymond Radiguet - The sudden death of his friend at the age of 20 destroyed Cocteau - He is impatiently waiting for Kessel, because Kessel was very close to Radiguet - Kessel was a reporter for the Journal des Débats - François Gachot will indeed become Jean Cocteau's secretary].
