The photo was taken in 1968 during Maurice Chevalier's birthday party at the Lido. Maurice Chevalier had been Yves Saint-Laurent's best man at his wedding. The jockey expresses his "great admiration for the super-champion" in the margin. Chevalier kept this photo in his office at La Louque (provenance sale Chevalier 2013)
