ALSACE. 1734. STRASBOURG. SUBSCRIPTION TO THE TENTH. "Extract from the Registres du Conseil d'Etat," held at VERSAILLES, 28 Dec. 1734. "The Inhabitants of the Province of Alsace would have made representations which would have engaged his Majesty to order by Arrest... that the inhabitants or possessors of goods in the Province of Alsace would be and remain exempt from the Declaration, by paying by them the sum of 675,000 Livres by form of free Donation..., His Majesty orders that the subscription of the Tenth of the Province of ALSACE... shall remain reduced to the sum of 600.000 Livres, independently of that offered separately by the City of STRASBOURG, & not including also the goods belonging to various Clergy dependent on the Bishoprics of STRASBOURG, BASLE, SPIRE, BESANÇON, of Lorraine and all others, as well as the Goods of the Order of Malta, the Teutonic Order, that of the Holy Spirit of Montpellier & of all other orders...
