1698 DECLARATION OF PEACE BETWEEN LOUIS XIV & EMPEROR LEOPOLD : "By the ROY, It is made known to all, That a good, firm, stable & solid Peace, with a full & sincere Friendship & Reconciliation, has been made & granted between the Most High, Most Excellent, & Most Powerful Prince LOUIS King of France and Navarre, & Most High, Most Excellent, & Most Powerful Prince LEOPOLD Emperor; & the Lords Electors, Princes & States of the Empire... That the said PEACE is general between Them... It is allowed to go, come, return, stay in all the places of the aforementioned Kingdoms, to negotiate and make trade of goods, to maintain correspondence, in all freedom, frankness & safety" Done in VERSAILLES (78) on December 31, 1697, signed LOUIS XIV, and lower, CHAMILLART. - followed by the Ordinance of Henry Jules de BOURBON, The Prince of CONDÉ, First Prince of Blood, First Peer and Grand Master of France, Governor & Lieutenant General for the King in his Provinces of BOURGOGNE & BRESSE.
