Masque Tshokwe
Pwo mask evoking a primordial female ancestor. The face has half-closed eyes, the toothed mouth is slightly open. It is decorated with traditional scarified motifs on the chin, cheeks and forehead. The head is surmounted by a headband evoking the diademed headdress with which this type of mask was adorned. Angola, Tshokwe ethnic group. 14x19cm
