In-16, (2) ff, 523-(1) pp; blue half-chagrin, ribbed spine, number L.B. at foot of spine, untrimmed (contemporary binding). Bound copy without cover, comprising 523 pages, with table on verso of last page and an undated printer's copy. Signed autograph letter from Marcel Proust to Léon BAKST, on the blank sheet before the false title, which has been reassembled during binding. Léon Bakst (1866-1924) was a Russian painter and decorator, and a teacher of Marc Chagall. A fine copy with the Léon Bakst figure "L. B." at the foot of the spine. False title margin weakened and reinforced.
