Paris, Goupil, Manzi, Joyant, 1904, in-4, deluxe publisher's binding : olive brown long-grained morocco, gilt armorial boards surrounded by a large frame with a frieze of golden griffins. olive brown long-grained morocco, gilt armorial boards surrounded by a large frame decorated with a frieze of gilt griffins and punctuated with gilt coats of arms in the corners, smooth spine with threaded compartments decorated with gilt emblematic fleurons, gilt edges, gilt head and tailpieces, gilt headband with witnesses, covers and spine bound in, [4]-294-[1] pp. First edition illustrated with 44 off-texts, including 2 in colour, a facsimile and qqs bandeaux and culs-de-lampe, all protected by captioned serpents. Edition of 800 copies on Blanchet vellum (n. 85). Well-illustrated edition according to documents of the time and a fine copy in a luxury Empire-style binding, decorated in the centre of the boards with the large arms with the imperial eagle, in the corners with the coat of arms of the Aiglon and on the spine with Napoleon's emblematic bees. Small tear at the lower right corner of the upper board.
