A very nice copy enriched with an interesting autograph letter signed by Théodore Duret to the collector "M. de Barty" (perhaps the collector and art critic Philippe Barty?), dated November 22, 1905: "I will soon publish a book on the Impressionists, in which Claude Monet will, it goes without saying, hold a very large place. I would like to reproduce, on this occasion, your Japonaise. Do you have a photograph, a drawing or a reproduction in any form that you could send me? I would be happy to see this beautiful work by Monet in my book [...]". It would seem that the addressee did indeed accede to his request, the work in question being reproduced in the text on p. 81.
