Brussels, Printed by Ant. Bruyn, 1755. Second edition, definitive, given by La Beaumelle, who published them for the first time in 1752-1753 under the title "Vie et lettres de Madame de Maintenon". It is the most complete edition of the letters of Madame de Maintenon which knew a resounding editorial success. (Tchemerzine, VII, 338; Brunet, III, 1321-1322.) Rough restoration to the first cover of volume I, some spotting, wormholes in the lower margin of volume 3, in the outer margin of volume 7 and in the lower corner of volume 9.
