DUMAS (Alexandre). Angèle, drama in five acts. Paris, Charpentier, 1834. In-8, [2] ff, 254 pp, [1] f. 4 pp. of Charpentier's catalogue, with a title-frontispiece by Célestin Nanteuil, in etching and in black, bound in printed cover. Some stains on the cover. First edition of this play partly written by Auguste Anicet-Bourgeois (Dumas' ability to put his name on the productions of his collaborators was limitless) and first performed on December 28, 1833 at the Théâtre de la Porte Saint-Martin (it was revived in 1838 - and censored -, then in 1861). There are copies with the title-frontispiece in bistre. (Vicaire III, 343.)
