BARTHELEMY (Auguste-Marseille). Némésis, weekly satire. Paris, Perrotin, publisher of the Twelve Days of the Revolution, 1832. In-4, [4]-8-420 pp. with 8 pp. inserted between pp. 128 and 129 (Supplement to the sixteenth issue), text in black frames, half-bottle basane, smooth spine decorated with gilt cross-hatching and cold fleurons, green vellum corners (period binding). Lacks of leather on both headpieces, spine rubbed. Well complete with the 52 issues (March 27, 1831 - April 1, 1832), the supplement to the sixteenth (L'Insurrection), and especially the prospectus-specimen (8 pp. initial) which is not found in all copies. This is the original first edition (with the development of Perrotin's address), in book form, of this eminently satirical political periodical, which was interrupted by court decision.
