Illustrated lithographed title, 8 lithographed colour plates of horses (c. 33 x 45 cm). Half-bound in contemporary style, red title on the spine. Very rare suite of 8 beautiful coloured lithographs depicting the main stallions and mares of the Danish royal stables in Frederiksborg (including Pegasus, Flink, Zephir, Palnatoke). All horses are captioned with a monogram and often a crown. The publication originally planned 12 issues of 4 plates but only the first 4 issues were published. (Nissen 1499.
