Born into a family of artists in Paris, Karl Lagasse is a French artist and sculptor. At the age of seven he met the sculptor César Baldaccini, who would influence his work. A few years later, he explored graffiti in the Paris subway. And under the guidance of the artist Yvaral Vasarely, son of the Hungarian artist Victor Vasarely, Karl Lagasse integrates his collages. Karl Lagasse's artistic career began in 1996, when 15 years old he sold his first work in Antwerp. In 2003, Karl prepared his first exhibition in Paris, where he exhibited works combining the techniques of painting and collage. His first solo exhibition took place in 2006. During this exhibition, he presented his famous "Buildings" at the Isy Brachot gallery in Brussels in 2009 was a year of consecration for the artist. He gained notoriety through his "one dollar" sculptures, finding himself today among the ten best sculptors in the world under 30 years old by Artprice. In 2012, the artist is cited as part of the fifty best contemporary artists tying his inspirations through American icons. He realized "Construction", a bronze sculpture, for the 65th Cannes Film Festival and is the story of the last one. In 2014, he was contacted by Maserati in order to achieve a collaboration to celebrate the centenary of the Italian brand and the worldwide launch of the new Ghibli. A year later, Karl Lagasse and Maserati work together again on the realization of a monumental installation entitled "A Piece of Heaven on Earth." In 2016, on the occasion of Art Paris Art Fair, President Francois Hollande personally congratulated the artist for the success of his work "one dollar", a two-meter high bronze sculpture exhibited at the Grand Palais. Karl Lagasse realized during 2017, the trophy for the winners of the 43rd edition of the American film Deauville Festival.
