Pupil of Lev Lagorio (first apprentice of Ivan Aivazovsky and recognized professor of the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg). Nikolaj Sergeev's landscapes are renowned for their play of light and their realism. The painting we present is certainly among the best works of this Russian academic artist, very rare on the market.
