THE FAURE in PARIS Rosewood case with a lid decorated with a brass cut-out shield lined with plum velvet, revealing a pair of percussion dueling pistols. Steel barrels with cut sides signed on the upper sides "F P Fauré Le Page à Paris". The locks and hammers are chased with foliage scrolls. Finger rests also chased with foliage scrolls. Walnut crossbars carved with foliage. With its accessories of which mallet, screwdriver-demonte-cheminée, mould with ball, bulb with powder out of copper and brass, rods of cleaning and stuffing, copper starters in a round box in purple wood. ABE circa 1850 (Scratch and white stain on the lid, stains on the velvet, tiny traces of oxidation and wear to the patina of the barrel) Sold with its original invoice of the House LEFAURE, factory Magasin d'Armes de Luxe dated April 12, 1856.
