Description

1967 RARE OSI 20 M TS COUPE (FORD) Chassis number : EX54GJ01931 French registration 55.216 km on the clock 3rd hand, technical control OK General evaluation : very good condition Interior : 5/5 Exterior: 4/5 Mechanics : 4/5 Chassis : 4/5 Equipment: 5/5 In 1965, under the pressure of the British and Italian manufacturers who were offering several sporty coupe models whose sales volumes, without being exceptional, were nonetheless significant, if only in terms of image, Ford Europe decided to study a real innovative coupe. But the time needed to launch a new model at the manufacturer was very long. It was therefore vital for Ford to find an urgent solution, even if it was only temporary. The solution came with the agreement signed with OSI. The mission entrusted to OSI was to design and manufacture, from the Taunus 20M chassis, an Italian-style coupe to serve the German market in priority. It took OSI less than ten months to design the new model and build the first prototype. The design is by Sergio Sartorelli, who designed the Fiat 2300 Coupé and many Karmann-Ghia models. The model was officially presented on the Ford stand at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1966. The production of the model stopped at the end of 1968 after 2.200 examples were manufactured by OSI. It is therefore a rare product in coupe form that we are offering for sale today. Powered by an original 2.3l V6 engine whose maintenance has been particularly well taken care of by its owners, the OSI 20 M TS Coupé drives smoothly thanks to a good weight distribution and a good transmission of the power to the ground. On the outside, the black paint and the slim Italian design make this OSI 20 MTS Coupé a sporty car with character from the 60s and 70s. The paint is in very good condition, only a few scratches from use will be needed to bring the vehicle to a concours condition. And it is when you open the door and discover the interior in excellent original condition, whether it be the black leather upholstery, the wood veneered dashboard and steering wheel, and the equipment in working order, that you will immediately fall under the spell of this rare coupe resulting from an Italian-American collaboration.
