Rare semi-automatic pistol "Bergmann N° 2", six shots, calibre 5 mm with central percussion. Barrel with sides, numbered "611". Carcass marked "PATENT S. G. D. G", stamped with a minor (in German "Bergmann") "GAGGENAU" and "V. C. S. SUHL". Folding trigger with days. Walnut stock plates, checkered. Finishing rebleuie. Length: 16,5 cm A.B.E. (Pitting on one of the sides). Circa 1893. N° 611 Theodor BERGMANN (1850-1931) was the director of the Einsenwerke Gaggenau from 1879. He is also a very prolific weapons manufacturer whose inventions were adopted or copied by many countries and who developed many automatic pistols manufactured by himself or by the companies to which he granted a licence: Bergmann Bayard, Bergmann Pieper.
